Victory Day Throughout history, Russians people had proved their bravery and devotion to their motherland. During World War II, USSR loss between 26 to 30 milion citizens, and eighty percent of Soviet male born in 1923 did not survive the war. In the 90’s, with the collapse of USSR, celebrations were less importants in the country because of political and sociale tensions. On the horizon of the New Millennium, Russia took a new path. Freshly elected, President Vladimir Putin decieded to promote history, national holidays and commemorations as a source of national self-esteem. Since then, Victory Day is a joyful celebration, popular and of a great proud for people, and gives a unique inside of the Russian soul.
